Our office utilizes many new advancements in the dental industry to provide our
patients with the best care possible. Here information about some of them.
Intra-oral Cameras
The intra-oral camera is small, handheld, it is about the same size as a dental
mirror (or an oversized pen) and comes with a disposable plastic sheath for
contamination prevention. It is used to take actual pictures of your teeth with up to
25 times magnification and project them onto a screen for your review. It can also
be used to give you a video tour of your entire mouth so that you can see things
such as plaque deposits, decay, worn teeth, and broken or missing fillings.
Telescopic Lopes
Have you ever wondered why your dentist wears funny looking glasses sometimes
when examining you? When you help patients daily to achieve their best oral care
possible, it is important to have the enhanced ability to see clearly in order to
assess and communicate clearly what issues may be present in the mouth. This
gives your doctor an enhancement from 1.5x to 6x that of normal vision to help in
identifying gum disease, cavities and many other dental concerns.
Rotary Endodontics
Endodontics, more commonly known as root canal treatment, is a procedure where
the roots or nerves of the tooth are removed. This is often due to the fact that they
are infected and the tooth is causing pain.
Rotary Endodontics is a way of performing the root canal utilizing a specific
electrical handpiece. This tool often makes the process faster and allows the dentist
to perform the process with greater ease. At GloriaDent, we use Protaper rotary
endodontics system by which the root canal system will be perfectly shaped and
cleaned.
Dental Implants
Dental implant technology continues to improve. Mini-implants can now
accommodate small tooth replacements. The bio-integration of the titanium tooth
root with human bone is completely predictable. The results are very long lasting.
The industry has also focused on reducing treatment time and some implants can
be placed immediately after tooth extraction as opposed to waiting six months after
extraction. In many instances, dental implants are now the standard of care if a
tooth needs to be extracted or if there is a question as to whether a root canal
procedure should be done.
PRF
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) can be incorporated into just about every oral surgery
procedure: wisdom teeth, tooth extractions, implants, bone grafts, and sinus lifts,
by the surgical site heals by stimulating the body to accelerate it’s normal
processes. This causes soft tissue (gums) to close faster and it has Bone

Morphogenic Proteins (BMPs) that help create new bone quickly. PRF is not just a
product, but it is your product. What that means is: a small amount of blood is
drawn (just like giving a sample at your physician’s office), and it is centrifuged to
concentrate the healing molecules into a clot in the test tube. The clot can be used
by itself, mixed into bone grafts, or as a covering to protect the surgical site. This
clot is purely you–it’s just the best parts of you–so you cannot be allergic and it
jump starts the healing process.

Utilizing modern and safe technology in our practice has always been a priority. if
you have any questions about the safety of our equipment, please do not hesitate
to ask.
